I am back from Alaska and as I sit here typing this my body is still on the ship as I feel the whole world rocking back and forth.
I am not sure if it was sea sickness or because of my ear surgery but I had a lot of trouble with the whole motion thing. There were quite a few times that I was sure I was going to pass out.
But I was told by a multi cruiser that this trip was the roughest she had been on. At least I didnt feel sick to my stomach and a few other people were also stumbling in the hallways just like me.
I could not use my laptop as the battery is crap and the did not have proper voltage except in the rooms. So the whole wireless thing was a bust as had only hotspots with no 110 volt outlets near them and my cell phone only worked in Seattle. So my plan on daily updates just did not work as planned..Oh well.
Okay now on to the pics....click on pics for bigger version
The ship I cruised on was the Norwegian Spirit and here she is.
The ship was very clean and our bathroom was much larger than I had expected.
We started out with good weather and on the first full day of cruising we saw this cool sunrise.
My mom was so glad that I talked her into the private balcony as we used it quite a lot. We would order room service for breakfast and eat our food looking out at the awesome views,
Here is a shot from our balcony.
In Skagway we went on the Whit Pass and Yuckon Route train ride which had some fantastic views and I got what I think was my best pic.
We did see icebergs but we had to turn around as at one point it got way to thick with them and we didnt want to repeat the fate of the Titanic.
Just check out this view!
Alaska is breathtaking even with clouds and rain and despite my trouble on the ship I had a great time.
We did see whales but I just could not get a good pic as it was raining and lots of wind. I also saw a Bald Eagle, dolphins, glacier, icebergs, salmon and them fatass sea lions who came off their island to great us.
Like any trip it had its good points and bad points but I have learned I need to stick to land trips with maybe a few short trips on water.
When is the world gonna stop rocking?
